MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia Transmission Corporation is moving forward with plans to install a nearly eight mile electric transmission line across Monroe County , including 14 private properties.

Doyle Bennett is one of those affected landowners.

"It's just not right. Morally it's not right," Bennett said.

Bennett says he bought 92 acres in Monroe County as a part of his retirement plan. A few months ago, he says he received a call that six of those acres will be used for the new transmission line.

He says he was planning on using the space to grow pine and chestnut trees, but now he says his future is uncertain.
