A Davis Joint Unified School Board meeting was abruptly halted after local activist Beth Bourne stripped down to a bikini in protest of the district’s transgender locker-room policy. Bourne, chair of the Yolo County chapter of Moms for Liberty, said she wanted trustees to understand how vulnerable students feel when classmates choose locker rooms based on gender identity. The meeting was recessed twice, and Bourne claims her First Amendment rights were violated after she was asked to leave. She is consulting an attorney, while community reaction remains divided. The district has not commented.
