OMAHA, Neb. —
A Douglas County judge found there is enough probable cause to send a caretaker, accused in a 67-year-old woman's death, to trial.
On Monday, a judge bound the case against Nicky Budlong to trial on manslaughter, abuse of a vulnerable adult, and theft/unlawful taking of $5,000 or more.
Omaha police arrested Budlong in August in connection with the February 2025 death of Kathy Snider. Police investigators and the Douglas County Attorney's Office said Snider's death was the result of neglect by her caretaker.
Investigators said Budlong cared for four people, including Snider. They said Budlong stole at least $83,000 from all of the victims.
No trial date has been set yet.
