VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) - Senator Patty Murray (D-Washington) joined small business owners on Monday to discuss how President Donald Trump’s tariffs are impacting their businesses and raising costs.
Murray, the Vice Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, held the discussion at Short & Sweet in downtown Vancouver and was joined by several small business owners from southwest Washington.
According to Murray, the Trump administration’s tariffs will cost Washington state nearly 32,000 jobs and more than $2 billion in revenue if kept in place over the next four years.
During the roundtable, Sonny Mouy, the owner of Short & Sweet, spoke about the unique challenges that the tariffs have created for his ability to make money.
