PROVO — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a car Monday evening in Provo.

About 6:35 p.m., a van was traveling north on University Avenue when it made a left turn to 1200 South. The van collided with a motorcycle that was traveling south on University Avenue, Provo police said.

The motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital but died after arriving, police said.

At the same time, Provo police also responded to an alleged DUI crash near 300 S. University Avenue. In that crash, a vehicle hit the center island of the roadway, causing "traffic lane obstructions," police said. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and the crash is being investigated. ×
