LONG BEACH — The Millikan girls flag football team rallied and scored a game-winning touchdown with nine seconds remaining to secure a come-from-behind 14-6 victory at home over Long Beach Poly in a Moore League game Monday.

Millikan’s win was also the first time Long Beach Poly has lost a Moore League game since flag football became a CIF-Southern Section sanctioned sport three years ago.

“We worked so hard for this,” Millikan senior receiver Kayla Cisneros said.

The Rams, who improved to 9-4 overall and 6-1 in the Moore League, are now tied with the Jackrabbits for first place in the league title race. The game was redemption, after Poly beat Millikan 20-14 on Aug. 25.
