The first post-mortem was conducted by the Singaporean authorities before handing over Garg's body to India.

A second post-mortem on the mortal remains of Zubeen Garg, who died on September 19 in Singapore, was conducted at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on Tuesday morning ahead of his cremation.

The decision to conduct a second post mortem was taken by the Assam government on Monday evening as the demands for another autopsy grew with conspiracy theories doing the rounds over the singer’s death.

After the post mortem examination, Garg’s mortal remains were taken from GMCH back to the Sarusajai Stadium. Following that, Zubeen Garg’s final journey commenced from the Sarusajai Stadium to the funeral site specially set up at Hatimura in Sonapur near Guwahati.
