JACKSON – Another deep field at the Jackson Invitational provided another of who’s who of high school cross-country all in one location.
The results didn’t disappoint.
On the girls’ side, top-ranked Ann Arbor Pioneer fended off a deep and talented field with 64 points. Fort Wayne (Ind.) Concordia Lutheran was second (85) and defending Michigan Division 1 state champion Romeo was third (90). Brighton (141), Saline (220), Traverse City Central (232), Hartland (237), Ann Arbor Skyline (237), White Lake Lakeland (324) and Clarkston (334) rounded out the top 10 of 29-school Orange Division field, which was for schools with enrollments of 1,000 or more.
Utica was the only other Macomb County school in the field, finishing 11th (352).
