TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - President Donald Trump announced that the FDA will advise doctors not to recommend acetaminophen, commonly known as the brand name Tylenol, to pregnant women due to concerns about an increased risk of autism.
The White House’s backing for the announcement, included two studies that tracked women and their children over several years . However, Dr. Christian Moher, a family physician at Camp Lowell Medical Specialists in Tucson, expressed skepticism regarding the scientific evidence supporting this connection.
"I certainly appreciate President Trump and Secretary Kennedy shining a light on autism and raising awareness,” Moher told News 4 Tucson. “I do not believe the science supports their conclusions that Tylenol causes autism.”
