The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and its attached offices launched the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2025 on 17 September, under this year’s theme, ‘Swachhotsav’. The initiative encourages citizen participation in cleanliness, removal of garbage spots, eco-friendly celebrations and welfare of sanitation workers across India. Review meetings were chaired by Vinay Kumar on 16 and 19 September, briefing officers on their responsibilities and campaign activities, with special focus on Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs). To date, 10,500 sites—including office premises, construction camps, toll plazas, wayside amenities, bus stops and stretches of National Highways—have been identified.
