PEARL CITY, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to a recycling facility fire that was reported in Pearl City early Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to Lehua Ave at 1:32 a.m. and started fighting a fire found on a large pile of metal.

The fire was brought under control at 3:13 a.m. and fully extinguished by 6:45 a.m.

An investigator with HFD was requested to the scene to determine the fire’s origin and cause.

No injuries were reported in this incident.
