Week 5 of the Alabama high school football season in the Montgomery-area brings the first shakeup at the top spot in the Montgomery Advertiser's top 10 rankings . Pike Road football has held the No. 1 spot for the last five weeks, but claiming the throne ahead of Week 5 is Carver after the Wolverines took down Dothan in dominant fashion Sep. 19.

According to the ASWA , Dothan was the ninth best team in 7A, while Carver was unranked. Quarterback Zion Crumpton makes plays week in and week out for Carver, and his confidence is spreading throughout the offense. The Wolverines have won four straight games and are arguably one of the hottest teams in 7A.
