One person has been taken into custody following a hit and run on Tuesday in southwest Oklahoma City, according to police.

The Oklahoma City Police Department says officers were called to the scene of a crash along South Robinson Avenue near Southwest 33rd Street.

After arriving on the scene, responding officers say a woman called out to police from a nearby creek.

OCPD says the woman told officers she was struck by a vehicle and thrown into the creek, with the vehicle later leaving the scene. That woman was later taken to a nearby hospital.

Nearby, officers located a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the incident several blocks away, and the driver was taken into custody.

Investigators are working to determine if the vehicle was involved in the hit-and-run.
