LSU's offense started its first drive of the second half with its starters. The Tigers led Southeastern Louisiana 35-0, but coach Brian Kelly wanted his attack to construct one more strong drive before calling it a night.
The group, led by fifth-year senior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who has also been dealing with a torso injury, had every starter back on the field to begin the new half except for one. Instead of redshirt freshman Weston Davis at right tackle, redshirt sophomore DJ Chester took his place.
