CHICAGO (WLS) -- There's a new a push to make it easier for restaurants to be dog-friendly in Chicago.

Forty Third Ward Alderman Timmy Knudsen is introducing an ordinance on Thursday.

It would allow pets at restaurants as long as several conditions are met. That includes clear signage that dogs are allowed and floors, chairs and tables that can be sanitized.

Owners would also have to keep dogs on a leash and have proof of rabies vaccination.
