GRAND FORKS – For more than 20 years, Scott Berge has been teaching field biology at Red River High School. His classroom is adorned with bison hides, cow skulls, elephant feet, taxidermied birds and various other animals.

Each item, whether passed down from the previous instructor, donated or contributed by students, is there to spark in the next generation the love of the outdoors.

Berge took field biology when he was a student at Central High School. He said his experience in the class was the reason he went on to become a teacher and he hopes to help students gain a greater appreciation for the outdoors.
