New iPhones mean new problems, and the iPhone 17 is absolutely no exception to that trend. In fact, some early adopters have already reported issues with the Wi-Fi cutting out intermittently on iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air. Which doesn't sound like a good thing.
The issue in question seems to affect users by disconnecting Wi-Fi at random points, only to reconnect when they unlock the phone. Now you may think that this isn't a major problem, because why would you need Wi-Fi if your phone is locked? But you would be wrong.
For starters, Apple's wireless CarPlay relies on a Wi-Fi connection to operate, and losing that connection means your car and phone can't communicate. Naturally, trying to unlock your phone while you're driving is a spectacularly bad idea. D
