ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music has been gifted a multimillion-dollar donation from two alumni.

The school says that this is the largest individual gift given to the school since its founding by George Eastman in 1921, 104 years ago. The gift was made as part of For Ever Better: The Campaign for the University of Rochester, which aims to support the intersection of music, technology, and education.

The two alumni are vocalist and University Trustee, Joan Beal (class of '84) and Emmy-winning composer Jeff Beal (class of '85). Their gift will provide funds for facilities, technology, new programs, and scholarships. Generally, it fuels the school's ability to educate and prepare students for their future careers in music.
