There have been fresh calls for the government to step in and offer financial support to the workers and businesses suffering as a knock on effect of the ongoing Jaguar Land Rover cyber incident. The attack over three weeks ago led to a shut down of the car giant's global production operation.
In turn this had a trickle down effect on tens of thousands of business and workers who rely on JLR as part of the supply chain. The sudden lack of work is having a major impact on smaller businesses, and pressure is mounting on the government to step in and help.
This has been echoed by Dr Charles Tennant, a local automotive analyst with an expert knowledge on JLR, after the company announced on Tuesday (23 Sept) that the current pause on production will continue into next month.
"This production
