MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities say they are actively investigating what they are calling a "critical incident" on Tuesday morning in Manitowoc.

According to a release from the Manitowoc Police Department, the incident occurred in both the 2400 block of Dewey Street and the 1200 block of South 17th Street.

Police are only releasing limited details at this time in order to "protect the integrity" of the investigation, which is actively ongoing.

Officials say there is no danger to the public at this time, but members of the community are asked to avoid both areas for the time being.
