An Edinburgh mum is pleading for help to save her critically ill puppy who has become "vitally important" to her autistic son.
Carolyn Carolyn Samson, from Boswall, is a single mum to Robbie, eight, who has high functioning autism and is in the process of getting an ADHD diagnosis. She says their biggest support is Raffi who helps Robbie through his meltdowns.
But at the beginning of the summer holidays this year, little Raffi fell ill after he was neutered. The rescue dog reacted badly to anti-inflammatory drugs given to him during a neutering procedure - leaving him with a ruptured ulcer.
While Carolyn was able to get him the initial surgeries and treatment he needed, her £12.5k pet insurance has now been maxed out.
