Major new EU border rules could put Brits off holidays to Europe View Image

Brits are being cautioned that a significant overhaul at European borders could seriously disrupt their holiday plans.

New digital border checks will necessitate travellers to provide fingerprints and a facial photo upon their initial entry into Schengen Area countries.

A study commissioned by Co-op Insurance revealed that nearly two-thirds of UK adults (60%) are oblivious to the changes set to take effect from 12 October.

Upon learning about the new requirements, the research found that over 15 million people said they would be discouraged from travelling to the EU when the new Entry/Exit System (EES) is implemented.
