New Delhi: The Indian contingent that made history at the 2025 Speed Skating World Championships in China returned to a hero’s welcome at Delhi Airport on Tuesday, bringing home a record-breaking haul of three gold medals and two bronze India’s best-ever performance at the event.

Senior skater Anandkumar Velkumar led the charge with a sensational showing, becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal in the senior men’s 1,000 m sprint with a time of 1:24.924.
