VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- Five gang members were recently convicted in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Damion Julio Rodriguez-Kirkland.

According to officials, on June 14, 2021, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Weblin Drive and Moorgate Court just after 11 p.m. for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival to the scene, officers located Rodriguez-Kirkland suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Rodriguez-Kirkland was then taken to a local hospital where he later died due to his injuries.
