THOMPSONVILLE, MI - There are a handful of ski resorts across Michigan where you can catch fall color chairlift rides this season. We’ve tested a few of them, and we have to say that the huge view you get at the top of Crystal Mountain’s lift is really spectacular.

The panorama from the top of the lift is billed as a four-county Up North view, and it sure feels like it. During autumn, it’s peak beauty in every direction.

“This is the ultimate fall color tour with little effort and high reward,” said Brittney Primeau, the resort’s director of communications. “The relaxing chairlift ride only takes a few minutes to get to the top where you can see for miles, overlooking four counties (Benzie, Manistee, Wexford, and Grand Traverse) of bright reds, burnt oranges and brilliant golds.”
