A Centre County man caused a nearly hour-long standoff with police on Tuesday after he threatened to kill a woman, stabbed himself and barricaded himself in a house, according to a criminal complaint.

Jason Lee Hannon, 44, of Bellefonte, was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, strangulation and terroristic threats, among other charges, relating to the incident.

Police gave this account of the incident:

Around 7:40 a.m. Spring Township Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Halfmoon Street after someone called 911 and said they could hear a woman yelling “Help” and “Get off me.”

Police arrived about 10 minutes later and could see a woman in the living room bleeding from the face. They were able to get her out of the house, but learned Hannon was inside, a
