The Baltimore City Council will meet Tuesday to discuss the reduction of crime in the city this year.
Baltimore has seen a historic reduction in homicides and shootings, with city leaders crediting a holistic, evidence-based approach for the progress. Other leaders are pointing out a need for resident buy-in across the city and the suburbs.

According to city statistics, there as been a 29.5% drop in homicides from January to August compared to this time last year.
