For the 15th straight year, Princeton University ranks as the No. 1 school in the nation, according to new college rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News and World Report.

The Ivy League school was followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (No. 2), Harvard University (No. 3) and Stanford and Yale universities (tied for No. 4).

Five other New Jersey universities — including all three Rutgers campuses, Stevens Institute of Technology and New Jersey Institute of Technology — also made the top 100 on the 2026 National Universities list. (See the full list of New Jersey universities and their rankings below.)
