SANFORD, MI – Construction crews have begun placing roller compacted concrete along the Sanford Dam embankment for the auxiliary spillway, marking a significant milestone in the multi-year reconstruction effort following the catastrophic 2020 dam failures.
The concrete work requires extended operations that began Monday, Sept. 22, and will continue through Thanksgiving. Crews will work from approximately 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with additional night and Sunday crews also on site. The expanded schedule will bring approximately 30 trucks of materials daily to the construction site, entering through the West Irish Street entrance.
