ANN ARBOR, MI — The University of Michigan found a way to soak in the sun just as the summer ends.
Two solar arrays have come to the university’s North Campus on the rooftop of its North Campus Facilities Services Building and in the building’s associated parking lot on Baxter Road.
The two arrays, which passed final code inspection codes last week, according to university officials, are part of the university’s three-year solar expansion and sustainability efforts known as Maize Rays.
The panels provide close to 600 kilowatts of renewable power for the university, enough electricity for about 100 homes in Michigan, Shana Weber, associate vice president for campus sustainability, said.
