Seven shops in Kent have lost their licence to sell alcohol in the last year after selling booze to kids. Two of the shops were in Deal, two were in Dover, and there were three others in Canterbury, Herne Bay and New Romney.

They sold drinks, including beer and vodka, to minors, some of whom ended up ill in hospital. Warning letters have also been sent to numerous other businesses across the county, including 11 in Maidstone alone.

Kent Police’s licensing team works with partners to regulate licensed premises. From tackling underage alcohol sales to reducing crime and antisocial behaviour, the team helps ensure pubs, clubs and shops operate in line with the law.
