Dadasaheb Phalke Award holds the rank of the country’s highest award for cinema. The award by the Government of India honors those individuals who have made a great contribution to Indian films. The award was inspired by Dadasaheb Phalke, the pioneer of Indian cinema. The award ceremony comes up every year during the National Film Awards.
