Kareem Lann, who pled guilty to two counts of ill treatment of animals and one count of presence at a facility of animal fighting or baiting on Sept. 3, has been sentenced by the Honorable Heath Taylor to two years, including one year of incarceration in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
After his release, Lann will serve one year of probation and is prohibited from owning or possessing animals for five years.
Lann was arrested along with 12 other men on April 20, 2024, when South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) agents and officers from various agencies rescued two dogs during an active dogfight in Eastover. Authorities also seized more than $84,000 in cash and multiple firearms at the scene.
