ONLEY, Va. (WAVY) — A former nurse practitioner from Onley, Virginia was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) across an encrypted messaging application.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, Lucas Fussell, 43, was sentenced to over 87 months (7 ¼ years) in prison, 10 years of supervised release, and must pay a $20,000 fine. Fussell was an employee of Eastern Shore Rural Health since 2012, but was dismissed from the health system following his arrest last year.
Fussell was found guilty of using the end-to-end encrypted messaging application, Session, to send and receive videos and images to another person, that depicted CSAM of prepubescent boys, according to court documents. There is no indication any of the material was of Fussell's pat
