An Indiana man and a Kentucky woman are part of NASA's newest astronaut class announced on Monday.

The 10 people were chosen out of more than 8,000 applicants from around the United States.
Yuri Kubo, a 40-year-old man from Columbus, Indiana, and Erin Overcash, a 34-year-old woman from Goshen, Kentucky, were among the candidates chosen.
Kubo studied at Purdue University, spent 12 years working at SpaceX and was a co-op student at NASA Johnson, where he completed tours of the Orion spacecraft, the International Space Station, and the Space Shuttle Program.
Overcash studied at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and is a graduate of t
