Srinagar, Sept 21. A security scare gripped Srinagar on Sunday after a suspicious object was found outside the Passport Office. The discovery prompted an immediate response from the police, who quickly cordoned off the area and summoned the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS). ADVERTISEMENT
Officials said the BDS team thoroughly examined the object before safely defusing it. Panic in the locality subsided after investigators confirmed that the material was in fact firecrackers, reportedly used during a nearby marriage function.
