Head coach Richard Whitelaw had a clear message to the Sun Valley Community School Cutthroats boys soccer team at halftime during its matchup against the Bliss Bears on Thursday.

“You’ve got 40 minutes, then you’re on [fall] trips,” he said. “Let’s pick it up a bit.”

The Cutthroats did just that as they scored four goals in the first 14 minutes of the second half in a 6-1 victory over Bliss at Browning Field in Sun Valley.

It was the last contest for the Cutthroats before students from the Upper School went on their fall trips this week.

Community School featured younger players throughout the match, including freshman Declan O’Toole, who had a nice run down the left side of the goal as he fed a pass to senior Chris Arenas, who slotted it in to give the Cutthroats a 3-0 lead in the 43r
