The changing of the seasons from summer to autumn has seen Kent endure a rapid shift in weather, with persistent rain and grey skies dominating the forecast since September began. While meteorological autumn commenced on September 1, which is based on annual temperature cycles, astronomical autumn is based on the earth’s position in relation to the sun and started this week from September 22, meaning the season is now well underway.

This week has largely seen a continuation of the recent gloomy weather and there is still more rain to come this weekend as temperatures take a notable dip. For the remainder of Wednesday (September 24), Met Office forecasters predict a general dry day following the outbreaks of rain in the morning, with some sunny spells possible throughout.
