FBI agents are responding to an active shooter situation at an ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations facility in Northwest Dallas, according to federal law enforcement sources.

Police units were dispatched to the facility, which is located along the I-35 frontage road, at approximately 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that there were multiple injuries and fatalities.

The shooter was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Noem said.

Officers told NBC 5 reporters at the scene that they weren’t sure if the situation was safe yet.

Law enforcement officials are currently diverting traffic and people away from the area.
