Candidates running for three seats opening up on the Nelson County School Board in the Nov. 4 election addressed voters at a public forum Sept. 15 at the Rockfish Valley Community Center in Afton.

Joe Kennedy, who is running unopposed for the East District seat; Stacey Rush and Wayne Hachey, who are vying to represent the Central District and Joe Richardson, who is running in the North District race, spoke and fielded questions from a moderator at the forum. Sarah Beth Tracy, who is also running for the North District, was not in attendance.

East District board member George Cheape, Central District representative Margaret Clair and Janet Turner-Giles, who currently serves on the North District seat, each are stepping down at the end of the year.
