Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini announced he is running for Michigan Secretary of State in 2026.

Forlini, 63, of Harrison Township, will seek the Republican nomination for the post next March when the party will nominate candidates for secretary of state, attorney general, state Supreme Court and state Board of Education.

Forlini was first elected clerk in 2020 and won re-election last year. In the office, he oversees elections in the county and pointed out he has been active in seeking to ensure the public’s trust in elections.
