BEREA — The Browns placed offensive tackle Dawnd Jones on injured reserve Sept. 24. To take his spot on the roster, they brought back to Northeast Ohio one of his mentors from Ohio State .

Cleveland signed former Massillon Tiger and Ohio State Buckeye product Thayer Munford Jr. off the New England Patriots' practice squad. Munford, in his fourth season, was originally a seventh-round pick in 2022 of the Las Vegas Raiders .

The 6-foot-5, 354-pound Munford has appeared in 46 career games with 18 starts with the Raiders (2022-24). He has spent the 2025 season on the Patriots’ practice squad. Buy Cleveland Browns tickets
