NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- Two people were arrested in New York in connection with a fatal shooting on Bagnall Road in Norfolk.

According to officials, on Sept. 23, 32-year-old Joy T. Samuels and 31-year-old Robert Gilmore, both from Norfolk, were taken into custody in Brooklyn, New York without incident and are currently awaiting extradition to Norfolk City Jail in connection with the homicide of 32-year-old Dion L. Melton.

Police said Samuels was charged with second-degree murder, robbery and conspiracy. Gilmore was charged with second-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy and use of a firearm.
