A number of experienced big men still remain on the free agent market ahead of training camp next week, but one potential option for the Celtics has found a new home. Former Knicks big man Precious Achiuwa has agreed to a non-guaranteed deal with the Heat according to Shams Charania of ESPN.com . The contract is for the veteran’s minimum.

Achiwua played regular minutes for the Knicks for much of last season, appearing in 57 contests while averaging 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. However, his role diminished in the postseason once Mitchell Robinson returned to the lineup. He appeared in just eight postseason games during the Knicks run to the East Finals, usually only seeing action when the Knicks’ top bigs got into foul trouble.
