Former Purdue football coach Danny Hope was hired by UCF to coach offensive line.

Hope coached several former Boilermakers to NFL career while serving as an assistant under Joe Tiller.

Hope hired Shawn Clark as his offensive line coach. Clark died Sunday while serving in that role at UCF.

WEST LAFAYETTE — Former Purdue football coach Danny Hope will take the place of one of his proteges on the UCF staff.

Knights coach Scott Frost announced Wednesday that Hope will join his staff to help coach the offensive line. Shawn Clark, the UCF offensive line coach who died Sunday at age 50, served as Hope's offensive line coach with the Boilermakers and at Eastern Kentucky.

Hope compiled a 22-27 record in four seasons at Purdue, including bowl appearances in his last two seasons. Clark
