Mumbai, Sep 24 (UNI) The Tata Sons-owned Air India group has officially announced through a statement that Air India Express will begin flight operations from the newly constructed Adani Holdings-owned Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), after it becomes operational on September 30.

The airport is a 74:26 joint venture between Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) and City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO).

Besides Air India Express, Akasa Air and IndiGo have also committed a certain number of flights from NMIA as soon as operations commence.

The Adani Airport Holdings Ltd-run airport will witness Air India Express operating 20 daily departures from NMIA, connecting 15 Indian cities, according to the statement.

The airline plans to increase this frequency
