The Warrick County Coroner's office has identified the young girl who was killed after being hit by a semi truck while riding her bicycle Tuesday evening.

Allison Lowery, 12, died at the intersection of Indiana 66 and Sharon Road, coroner Alissa Salee-Enright said in a news release Wednesday. Warrick Sheriff Mike Wilder told the Courier & Press the girl was a student at Castle South Middle School.

According to the crash report, Lowery was riding her bike across the intersection just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The semi driver was traveling west on Indiana 66 approaching Sharon Road. The stoplight was green, and the truck was passing through the intersection when the driver saw the girl crossing the highway.
