The state's case against an Oconto County doctor accused of creating child sexual abuse material was dropped after the man was indicted on similar charges by a federal grand jury.

Isaias Cupino, 65, of Oconto Falls was indicted Sept. 23 on one count of producing child pornography, one count of transporting child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography, according to court records. He had previously been charged with possessing child pornography, child sexual exploitation and child sexual assault in Oconto County.

Prosecutors moved to dismiss the Oconto County case in light of the federal indictment, court records show. The case was dismissed Sept. 24 without prejudice, meaning the charges could be refiled in the future.

Cupino was first charged in federal court Sept.
