LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Authorities are investigating after a disassembled gun was found outside Lincoln Southeast High School on Wednesday.
Lincoln Public Schools said a parent discovered a disassembled weapon in their student’s bag that was located in the parent’s car.
The weapon was immediately turned over to a nearby School Resource Officer.
LPS said the bag was in the parent’s vehicle in the visitor parking lot the entire time and was never brought inside the school.
“We appreciate the parent for reporting the concern immediately to law enforcement and their continued cooperation during the investigation,” LPS wrote in a statement
