As the weather starts to get colder, many people may be thinking about ways to cut back on electricity costs, and Take Charge NL says there are several things people can do to help with that.
This is Energy Efficiency Week across the province.
Peter Upshall says there are several things people can do immediately to reduce energy costs “such as turning down their thermostats. Another thing people can do,” he offers, is use blinds and curtains because they can help block cold air from coming in.
Upshall says it is also important for people to draft proof their homes.
He says people should use their hands to feel around windows and doors. If they can feel a draft, then they may need to install new weather stripping to keep the cold out.
